 Windows XP Users Start Deprecated

Although still used Windows operating system, users of Windows XP becoming obsolete after the “power” of about 10 years.

Based on the latest data released by Net Applications, market share and XP operating system is below 50 percent. According to Net Applications, XP’s share of the market continued to erode in recent years. Last year, XP still achieve 62 percent of the market. But in July 2011, that number has dropped to 51 percent.

At the same time, the latest version of Windows, Windows 7 is controlled almost 28 percent of the operating system market compared to other operating systems, including Mac OS X and Apple IOS. But this figure is quite satisfactory, considering the new Windows 7 released in October 2009.

Meanwhile, the share of Windows Vista in the market is decreasing every month and now only recorded in 9 percent. However, the overall Windows still dominates the OS market with the global figure of 87 percent.

Lower market share of Windows XP may be associated with Microsoft’s plan to end the life cycle of Windows XP in 2014. To that end, Microsoft is working hard to encourage Windows XP users, both individuals and businesses, the move to Windows 7 that cost five times more secure than XP.

However, migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 is considered a waste of time, especially by entrepreneurs. Tools issued by Microsoft as Windows Easy Transfer is not deemed sufficient for the actual migration process.

Surely a survey of a number of IT workers last November revealed that the intention to continue using XP, but Microsoft stopped all updates for Windows XP in 2014.
